Mark W. Hollmann, M.D.
Hollmann was the first surgeon in the Greater Orlando
area to perform Makoplasty® robotic partial knee
replacement surgery (Roboknee), and has performed more
total knee replacements than any other surgeon in the
Central Florida area, according to www.floridahealthfinder.gov. He
is an integral part of Florida Hospital DeLand and
continues to play a vital role in the advancement of
orthopaedic surgery in Central Florida.
As the only Volusia County surgeon inducted into the
American Association of Hip and Knee surgeons, Dr.
Hollman is committed to promoting the advancement of
knee surgery. He serves as a consultant to MAKO Surgical
Corp., the technological developer of Makoplasty®, where
he trains surgeons in the technique.
Dr. Hollmann is an All-American college athlete whose
love of sports helped launch his career in sports
medicine and orthopedics. He is a graduate of UTHSCD
Southwestern Medical School
in Dallas, Texas, and is fellowship-trained in sports
medicine and knee reconstruction surgery. He was
selected as one of two team physicians for the men’s
and women's basketball teams in the 1996 Olympics, and
also spent a year as assistant to the team physician for
the Orlando Magic. He is currently the team physician
for Stetson University athletics and orthopedic
consultant for local high schools.
Royce E. Hood, Jr., M.D.
native Floridian, Dr. Hood specializes in a variety of
orthopedic conditions, including sprains, fractures,
back and neck disorders and conditions requiring total
joint replacement. Year after year, Dr. Hood has
demonstrated his experience and expertise in performing
A board-certified orthopedic surgeon and a fellow in the
American Academy of Orthopedics Surgeons since 1975, Dr.
Hood completed his medical training at the Emory
University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and completed
his residency in the United States Air Force. He
established his own practice with two other orthopedic
surgeons in 1975 and has been committed to the
well-being of his patients ever since.
Dr. Hood integrates his Christian faith into his
practice and has established many long-term
patient-doctor relationships. He has earned the
reputation for being the “doctor's doctor”
in DeLand. His wife, Mary Lane Hood is a nurse
