Dr. Mark Hollmann is one of Central Florida’s most experienced joint replacement specialists and performs nearly 300 joint replacements each year.

He is Central Florida’s only orthopaedic surgeon performing the MAKOplasty procedure and has been specifically trained in this innovative technique.

A high school sports injury was the negative incident that fired a positive spark in Mark Hollmann to become an orthopaedic surgeon. As a college athlete, he saw the value in the training that got him on the road to recovery and back on the basketball court. This experience launched an interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, and his skills as an orthopaedic surgeon have provided an avenue for him to combine his career with his love of sports and athletics.

He continues to play an integral part in the advancement of innovative orthopaedic surgery in Central Florida and remains on the forefront of sports medicine and arthritis treatment. He has recently been honored to be selected as a member of the Hip and Knee Society.

Dr. Hollmann was selected as one of the two physicians to care for the men and women’s basketball teams in the 1996 Olympics and also spent a year as assistant to the team physician for the Orlando Magic. On the local level, he is the head team physician for Stetson University athletics and orthopedic consultant for the local high schools.

Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Hollmann received his medical degree from UTHSCD Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery from the University of Florida in Jacksonville before completing a fellowship in sports medicine and knee reconstruction surgery at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic in Winter Park.

The appeal of a historic community with the big-city conveniences brought Dr. Hollmann and his family to West Volusia County. He and his wife are involved in many community service organizations and are happy raising their five children in a small town atmosphere.
